What is Safe Place?
Safe Place is our Upper Room Protection Plan, a carefully crafted policyusing several resources in its development. Safe Place uses "Plan to Protect"(a program designed by The Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada), "Commit to Kids"(a program designed by the Toronto Police Association) and "Reduce the Risk"(a program designed by a private Company); all programs facilitating the protection of children, youth and volunteers.
What Does SAFE PLACE Look Like at URCC?
Upper Room Community Church is committed to providing a safe environment for your kids. As a result all of our classes comply with standard adult-child ratios, and each teacher is individually screened and trained.
This individual screening includes: an annual training session, an application form, reference checks, police checks every two years, an interview and final approval. All of our volunteers previous volunteer experience and personal information is kept confidentially in a locked file complying with the law.
