What kind of church is Upper Room Community Church?

Upper Room Community Church is a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Canada. We are "christian" because we believe and follow Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. We are "missionary" because we are committed to reaching people with the good news of Jesus Christ. To find out more, have a look at our Doctrine Document.

How do I get to Upper Room Community Church?

We are easy to find! We meet in the AMC 30 cinemas located at the South/East corner of Hwy 400 and Hwy 7 in Vaughan. Click here for map

What time are the worship services?

We meet at 9:45am on Sunday mornings.

When should I arrive?

Its always a good idea to try and arrive a few minutes before the service to grab a complimentary coffee and a good seat. Also, if you are bringing your children you'll want to have time to registered and settled them in our Treehouse Kids program designed especially for them.

How long are worship services?

Our services usually run from 9:45 – 11:00am. After each service we have a "30-minute Party" in the mezzanine upstairs – a great place to connect with other people and have coffee and homemade goodies.

Where should I park?

The advantage to meeting in a movie theatre? Tons of parking! Take your pick in the massive parking lot.

What door should I enter?

If you aren't dropping off kids at our Ministry Centre, come directly to the AMC Theatre's front doors and enter in the far right side. There will be greeters inside to direct you to the kids classes upstairs or Theatre 25 where the services are held.

Where do I take my children?

If you have kids in JK and older, you should first go to our Ministry Centre beside the Boston Pizza in the concourse in front of the AMC Theatre to register your kids for their program.

If your kids are younger than JK, bring them into the AMC Theatre with you and then up the elevator to the mezzanine. The mezzanine houses our Treehouse Kids program for children under 4 years old. For more information see Treehouse Kids.

What if I have a baby?

Join the club! There are tons of babies and kids at URCC, so you'll feel right at home. We have a wonderfully fun and safe nursery that you are welcome to leave your baby in – you'll be provided with a pager should the caregivers need you at any point during the service. We also have a Nursing Mothers area where you can still hear the service.

Which Theatre do you meet in?

Theater 25

Is there a dress code?

Not at all! Come as you are...we really want for people to feel comfortable when they come to worship. People come in anything from jeans to business casual.

What is the music like?

We have 3 great worship teams that lead the congregation each week. Our worship is current, led by a band and focused on God.

Do I have to sing?

Not if you don't feel comfortable. The words to each song are provided on the movie screen at the front to make it easier to follow along. Its completely up to you.

Does it cost anything to attend?

No.

Who is the speaker?

URCC's lead pastor is Vijay Krishnan. Most Sundays he teaches the congregation, but from time to time there will be guest speakers.

Do you have any welcome information for newcomers?

Yes! There are welcome packets available when you come in, or from any of the Ushers, or at our resource table at the 30-minute Party after the service.
