At URCC we are committed to not only telling others about the saving grace of Jesus Christ, but by compassionately serving those burdened by the injustices of poverty and slavery throughout the world and right here in our community.
We are honoured to be able to partner with the Kids in Crisis centre, a home for children infected and affected by HIV/Aids in Conakry, Guinea West Africa. Through the tireless love and effort of the leadership team in Guinea this home is not only providing for these children's physical needs - medicine, shelter and clothing - but also for their emotional and spiritual growth in ways that can only be described as miraculous. While we help them provide for these children through extensive fundraisers, prayer and mission trips, their commitment to the Lord and to the people of Guinea spurs us on to a deeper relationship with Christ.
Here at home, the community at Upper Room Community Church is active in supporting a variety of local initiatives that aid the impoverished people of Toronto. By partnering with like-focused organizations around the city we hope to show in practical ways the love of Christ to those who may never have the opportunities the majority of us take for granted.
